Description: Hensley Settlement is a part of Cumberland Gap National Historic Park. The preserved settlement is located atop Brush Mountain where the Hensley's first settled in 1903. In the early part of the century, the Hensley settlers elected to remain on the mountain forsaking settled areas for a self-sufficient way of life. The mountain farmstead community has restored houses, barns, fences, schoolhouse and cemetery. If you go on the tour be sure to wear walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.
Open: April-October for tours by appointment.
Cost: Adults $10, Seniors $5, 12 and under $3.
